We value integrity and passion to foster enduring relationships with our customers that create real value. EMS assists businesses to save money, improve energy performance, quantify emissions and evaluate efficiency.

Peter Halyburton founded Energy and Management Services (EMS) after leaving Advance Energy in 1996. His career in the Electricity Supply Industry spanned 34 years and covered three separate Electricity Supply Organisations.

Since 1996, EMS has grown from a single operator to a consultancy specialising in all aspects of energy advice. This includes energy audits, energy sourcing, the negotiation of energy contracts and the design and analysis of electricity supplies. The company now provides advice regarding Distribution Network Service Provider pricing and policies to the Australian Energy Regulator and consults to a wide range of private and government organisations.

Today EMS employs a range of local specialist staff with expertise in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Marine, Process) and Environmental (Environmental Management and Environmental Science) disciplines. See our staff page for more details.

EMS has negotiated contracts for over 50 billion kWh since 1997 and has provided advice to over 200 organisations across Australia.

At EMS we try hard to work with our customers to deliver on time, every time and exceed expectation. EMS staff are trained in specialist areas of expertise to ensure the job is done right the first time. We value our customers and our working relationships with them.

This is what our customers say about us:

E21 is such a valuable tool. I have made many recommendations to my colleagues and associates about the system. Appreciate working with your great team.

Dear Peter,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your time and the preparation involved to attend the Australian Competition Tribunal's Public Consultation Forum.

Your participation in this forum was very important as it gave the Tribunal a valuable insight into the potential impacts resulting from the Australian Energy Regulators final determination. It was also a great opportunity for the Tribunal to hear directly from a variety of customers on your real life experiences, particularly living in regional and rural NSW.

Once again, thank you for your participation in the Forum.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your help and assistance with our project. Without your help, I wouldn't have been able to complete it in time.

Once again, thank you. Please keep in touch to let me know wherever I may be of assistance to you.

Hi Peter, Andrew and Murray,

Yes it is a great result and we are very pleased that we have used your E21 Energy Plus to discover this massive overcharge on behalf of Essential Energy and TruEnergy.

I am very happy to recommend E21 Energy Plus to your other clients and happy to give a testimonial to the value of this service.

Andrew is also to be commended for his work in getting all the details right and following through when it seemed like Essential Energy were dodging the issue.

Kind regards

I have been meaning to email you for a month or so just to let you know that we received payment from OEH and to say thanks. Our electricity bills have definitely gone down since we changed all the lights, in the vicinity of about $500 per month so it was well worth doing.

Business Communication Centre had a timer installed on our Hot Water System which we have activating for 2 Hours on a Monday and Wednesday Morning (giving us sufficient hot water for the week).

We have also been powering off computers at close of business each day that are not required to be on overnight.

This has resulted in our Electricity Bill dropping by half, from $2,350 for a quarter, to $1,150 for the last quarter (which had everything in place for the complete quarter).

Thanks for your help on advising what we could to do reduce our power consumption.

Trent GoodallManaging Director – Business Communication Centre

Hi Peter,

Just a quick email to say thanks for your help with the process. Your expertise and knowledge of the industry certainly helped us to gain more of an understanding about the process.

Kind regards

Thanks very much for the final report and your efforts in meeting our timelines on this project. The Board commented very favourably on your report.

Thanks Peter,

E21 EnergyPlus has made a big difference in our ability to understand and create opportunities in energy efficiency.

I’ve enjoyed working with you all.

Energy and Management Services have provided consulting services to the Manildra Group since 2006 in areas including electricity and gas procurement, billing verification, cost optimisation, network connection agreements and independent sourcing of renewable energy certificates.

Their expertise and innovative approach has continuously delivered value, often in unexpected ways, and with seriously good cost outcomes. Their insights into energy pricing has been particularly helpful to Manildra, with the majority of our sites benefiting from their analysis and advice.

The e21 EnergyPlus bill verification and energy management software continues to deliver real savings, not just hypothetical savings. Any large customer not checking their bills with this software is potentially spending considerable dollars unnecessarily. The savings identified over the years would have never been uncovered from normal checking of the bills received.

We are very happy with our relationship with EMS and highly recommend their services.
